The list of the best and most charming ski resorts in Chamonix-Mont Blanc is headed by the ski resort – Les Houches (longest slope 4 km). The famous world cup Hahnenkamm race takes place here once a year. With its diverse ski area and good quality snow, Les Houches is highly popular, it offer you a good choice of great activities suitable for the whole family. Skiing and boarding are the main attractions in winter, with biking and hiking being the most popular in summer.

Beautiful animal park which offer you a real opportunity to immerse yourself in the local wildlife and nature, located at 1,500 metres altitude on the southern side of Les Houches. There is a restaurant in the park area, picnic tables are available just outside the entrance.
Parc de Merlet
This colossal statue of 25 meters high, is implanted on a rocky spur with a beautiful panoramic view over the mont-Blanc range.
It was built in 1933 on the initiative of the abbot Claude Marie Delassiat, priest of Les Houches, to symbolise love and peace between men. It has recently been listed as a historical monument and is one of the highest statues in France.
Around 1730, Les Houches created a new parish, separated from the one in Chamonix. It was places under the patronage of St. Jean Baptist. The church was consecrated in 1766. Hier you can feel the breath of the old time. Take a break after breathtaking hiking or skiing and enjoy the silence of the past.

From the village of Les Houches, get up to the stunning mountain scenery of the Prarion Plateau (1,900 m). The cable car of Prarion will charm all the mountain lovers. The panoramic 8 places cabins guarantee you a comfort and the breathtaking 360° view of Mont Blanc and its surroundings. Everybody (from easy walkers to mountainbikers) will find here something that suits his/her expectations.

Telepherique de Bellevue is one of cable cars which can be used with summer pass. It ends in 1794 meters where is a stop of Tramway du Mont Blanc. From hier you have a wonderful view of Les Houches and valley, Mont Blanc, Glacier de Bionnassay. Join in 5 minutes the Bellevue plateau (1800 m) and enjoy many hiking trails in a unique landscape.

This is one place, that you must visit if you are a dog lover. A native to the Alps, Saint Bernards are a rare pedigree. While visiting the Merlet Animal Centre, on the way, do visit the Saint Bernard Breeding centre situated between Servoz and Les Houches.

Hiking around Les Houches is one of the best ways to experience more of the countryside. One of the most popular family-friendly options is the Gorges de la Diosaz. It is one of the most beautiful hiking trails in France. Enjoy a refreshing walk in warm weather and a wild one on rainy days, explore the area from the beginning of June to the end of September.
